Malala

Malala Yusufzai from Pakistan has become the youngest person at the age of 17 to win the Nobel Peace Prize, for defending the education of women by almost giving her life for it. In announcing the award, the Nobel Committee said: “Although she is young, she has been fighting for girls' right to education for several years and she has set an example to show that children and young people can also contribute to improving their own lives
terms.

When the Taliban started attacking Pakistan, Malala was just a child and had to endure the ban in order to study. But her father was a devout Muslim and was interested in education. He refused to let her daughter become ignorant and he began to educate her himself, without considering punishment from the Taliban if they found out about her.

In 2012, Malala Yousafzai was shot while riding a school bus to the city of Mingora in northwestern Pakistan. The motive for the Taliban attack was clear: the 16-year-old dared to defend the girl's right to education.

Malala's activism did little to win over the determined fundamentalists. Death threats against her appeared in the newspapers, on Facebook and even under her door. But she refused to give up, and this decision almost killed Malala.
